Our Leadership Team

Peter provides strategic guidance, leadership, and commercial direction for the insurance broking division nationally, including maintaining key relationships with local and international insurers. Peter is committed to supporting our clients; ensuring they are better informed about the cover they need, the value they are receiving and improving their ability to manage risk. 

Prior to joining EBM in 2019, Peter held senior leadership roles with QBE Insurance for almost 25 years where he was responsible for underwriting, claims and service delivery. Peter brings extensive knowledge across all aspects of general insurance and workers’ compensation. 

Jane oversees the successful delivery of strategic initiatives, ensuring compliance and alignment with EBM’s business goals, with a focus on People & Talent and Operational Excellence initiatives for the Broking and CoverLink business areas. 

Prior to joining EBM, Jane was based in Europe and provided high level executive support to the family offices of high net-worth individuals in the oil and gas, property development, entertainment and investment banking sectors. 

Steve provides technical leadership and expertise across EBM nationally, including oversight of complex policy negotiation, claims management and key stakeholder relationships. Steve oversees EBM’s Risk Solutions Network, a network of resources and support to assist our clients with identifying, understanding and managing their risks.  

With over 35 years at EBM across a variety of roles, Steve has successfully contributed to the growth of the business and progressed his career from Executive Account Manager to Managing Director, and is now Director of Broking. Steve has been a member of the EBM Board of Directors since 2014.

Ryan leads the development of EBM’s national broking portfolios which includes key client, insurer and stakeholder relationships. He is passionate about helping Australian business owners to identify inherent business risks and works as a strategic risk partner to provide proactive and reliable insurance solutions. 

Ryan commenced his insurance career over 25 years ago with a major insurer prior to becoming a managing partner with a specialist broking practice in 2004. Ryan joined EBM in 2014, initially as State Manager of Western Australia before becoming Director of Broking. 

Amanda is responsible for the management and oversight of insurance broking processes nationally to ensure EBM continues to evolve our client service delivery and adheres to industry regulations. 

Amanda worked with a national insurer for 8 years prior to joining EBM, bringing extensive knowledge of workers’ compensation claims management. In 2009, Amanda joined EBM where she successfully established a dedicated Injury Management Team to assist EBM clients to navigate Workers’ Compensation claims. Amanda held the position of National Manager – Injury Management until 2022 when she transitioned into the role of Director of Broking Services. 

Pamela is responsible for the successful delivery of EBM’s marketing and communication strategy nationally, supporting EBM’s vision and business goals. 

Prior to joining EBM in 2019, Pamela held senior roles in the financial services industry in Toronto, Canada where she was responsible for brand/identity building, marketing, product development, digital marketing and communications.  

Ashton has over 41 years’ experience, and with 33 years at EBM, brings a wealth of insurance industry expertise and knowledge. Ashton was responsible for establishing EBM’s regional office in Kalgoorlie and is now based in our Perth office. His Australian and international client industry experience includes public listed and unlisted corporate clients, exploration, mining within the resources industry, principals, and contractors.   

Craig Goodwin has over 30 years of insurance industry experience in both underwriting and insurance broking and has worked across many national projects. Craig joined EBM in 2014 and currently manages a team of brokers in EBM’s Perth WA office, in addition to managing his own extensive portfolio of clients across a variety of industries.  

Taryn Ryslink leads the development and delivery of key business processes and projects at EBM. Taryn brings a breadth of expertise in project management and analysing workflows to streamline processes, maximising the output and level of success for the business.  

Prior to joining EBM in 2018, Taryn enjoyed varied roles while working with a range of insurance broking firms over the past 28 years, providing her with overarching experience in the industry. 

Ben Bowen joined EBM in 2019 and is based in our Melbourne office where he manages corporate and commercial broking teams across the Sydney, Gold Coast and Melbourne locations.   

Ben has over 20 years of experience which began in the United Kingdom where he managed liability and property losses for one of the country’s largest counties, along with the UK schools’ insurance program.

Chelsey Harris manages an extensive portfolio at EBM that specialises in mining, services to mining and transport industries along with leading a broking team that supports clients across the Perth and Goldfields WA regions.  

For over 30 years, Chelsey has worked alongside clients across many sectors to help them protect their assets by identifying key risks and implementing holistic solutions. 

Thom Anderson-Nicholls is a specialist insurance broker to EBM’s mining, mining services and financial institution clients. His portfolio extends throughout Australia and south-east Asia; he works closely with each of his clients to acquire optimal insurance and risk solutions.   

He manages a broking team across EBM’s Perth, Kalgoorlie and Karratha WA locations and is one of EBM’s Certified Cyber Insurance Specialists.  

Lawrence has over 25 years of experience in insurance distribution having worked for a number of Australian insurers across the country.

He has worked with teams across regional and rural Australia with a particular interest in our agricultural communities.

Lawrence joined EBM in 2024 and manages broking teams located in our Bunbury and Geraldton offices, with a focus on supporting the South-West and Mid-West regions.

Ken Williams leads EBM’s Construction and Marine team from our Sydney office. He has specialist knowledge in all aspects of construction insurance risks which enable him to support our clients to manage their risks effectively.

Prior to joining EBM, Ken worked on major infrastructure projects in Sydney, and managed insurance programs for mid to large privately owned construction companies, major contractors and commodity exporters.

Julian Lane is the National Manager of EBM’s Injury Management service. His is a technical specialist with extensive experience in Workers’ Compensation case management of complex claims.

He is a strategic, big picture thinker who is passionate about supporting clients with workers’ compensation claims and advocacy.

Director since 1975.

Alan Bishop-AM was the founding principal of EBM in 1975 and has over 40 years in the industry. National President of the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA) from 1996 to 1998, Alan served 15 years as a Director and was awarded an Honourary Fellowship. During this period, as well as steering EBM to become the largest privately owned Australian broker, Alan was involved in directing the insurance broking industry through some of its most turbulent times such as the HIH crisis and the introduction of the Financial Services Reform Act (FSRA). In 2019, Alan was a recipient of the Order of Australia in for his significant service to the insurance industry and community. He also currently serves as a member of the Churchlands Senior High School Foundation (Inc.) board.

Director since 2014.

Ward has over 30 years’ experience in the insurance industry having commenced in claims and underwriting for major insurers in 1994 before joining a broking firm in 1997. Ward commenced with EBM in early 2000 and during this time has transitioned from General Manager to Managing Director (Group Operations) and into his current role of Chief Executive Officer / Executive Director. His unique understanding of the insurance industry includes a long association with the National Insurance Brokers Association (NIBA). This includes being a past recipient of the National NIBA Young Professional Broker of the Year Award (2007), serving as Chairman of NIBA’s WA Divisional Committee, and as NIBA National Vice President.

Director since 2020.

Sharon Fox-Slater joined EBM in 1993 and was part of the core team that helped launch one of Australia’s first landlord insurance policies into the market. Since then, she has worked to transform EBM RentCover from a small start-up into a national operation of more than 90 employees who work hard to educate property professionals and protect about 165,000 policyholders. Notably, Sharon was the first woman in Australia to complete the Advanced Diploma in Insurance Broking.

Served over 40 years in the industry and 29 were spent with EBM until transitioning to Executive Consultant and non-Executive Director in 2014. Over this period Jeff was involved with growing the EBM business and as its Managing Director leading EBM to the most enviable position of Australia’s leading privately owned and operated insurance broker. Jeff is a Qualified Practicing Insurance Broker, has achieved an Advanced Diploma of Financial Services (Insurance Broking) and attained Fellowship of NIBA.

Director since 1998.

Dalton is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, a Senior Partner of Gooding Partners Chartered Accountants and was a former Partner with Ernst & Young and Chairman of the West Coast Eagles. He is also the Chairman of Katana Capital Ltd and St Ives Group, and a Director of RACWA Holdings Pty Ltd, RAC Insurance Pty Ltd, RAC Finance Ltd, Enrich Health Group Pty Ltd and a Councillor of RAC. Dalton holds a number of other company board positions.
