Looking back over five decades, I am filled with pride and gratitude for all we have achieved, and with a lasting passion for what we can accomplish in the years ahead.
From our modest beginnings in Perth, WA, to a national presence with nine offices across Australia, our journey has always been shaped by the people we serve and those we work alongside.
Many of our clients have been with us since the beginning. Their trust – often spanning generations – is one of our greatest achievements, and speaks to the calibre of our team and the culture we have created together.
Our people are more than just skilled professionals; they are advisors, advocates, and above all, people who genuinely care.
We have grown through experience and diverse expertise and have taken the time to understand the unique challenges our clients face. We have built specialist services that meet our clients where they are, and when existing solutions fall short – we create new ones. I am immensely proud of this, and it goes to the heart of who we are. It is how our distinct products and services have come to support industries as diverse as mining, agriculture, transport and logistics, contractors, engineers, manufacturing and construction.
Over 50 years, we have supported our clients through hundreds of thousands of insurance claims, helping secure outcomes that truly matter, not just in dollars, but in peace of mind, involving payouts of billions of dollars.
Our business divisions have continued to evolve and grow with purpose. EBM RentCover was one of the first of its kind developing landlord insurance policies in 1991 and now protects about 155,000 properties across Australia. EBM Insurance & Risk has grown to be one of Australia’s largest insurance brokers. Established in 2013, CoverLink maximises our specialist relationships and leverage with the London and Australian markets. And EBM CoverLink, established in 2022, specialises in retail and micro-SME insurance, bringing the EBM way to house and contents, motor vehicle, TradesPlusCover and musical instruments.
Throughout our journey, we have also continued to expand the skills and capabilities across the entire EBM Group, with our shared services teams playing a vital role in supporting and enabling sustainable growth across all divisions.
Meanwhile, our deep connections in the insurance markets, including our status as a Lloyd’s Coverholder, gives our clients access to some of the most respected and innovative insurance products available worldwide.
But perhaps what matters most is that in every place we operate, we give back. We support community events and organisations, investing in local initiatives where many of our people are active participants and prominent community members.
To everyone who has been part of this journey – our clients, team members, partners, family and friends, past and present, thank you. Your trust and the relationships we have built together have been the foundation of these first 50 years, and it inspires everything we look forward to building in the future.
